Never Diet Again - But Lose Weight Anyway
By Rosie PetersNever diet again, is this what you've been looking for? Does being able to lose weight without a diet sound too good to be true? Well it sort of is and sort of isn't. You can lose weight and keep it off without dieting, but you are still going to have to give up some poor habits you've developed. But it might not be as bad as you're thinking.
If you can manage to follow this simple diet advice, you are going to lose weight by making a few adjustments rather than reluctantly embarking on yet another full blown diet.
1. Drink more water. Ditch the fizzy drinks or cream and sugar laden coffee and get yourself hydrated by drinking 1/2 litre of water at least 4 times a day. Water will make you feel full without adding calories and your metabolic rate will increase, meaning you will burn more calories even when you are inactive. Give your tastebuds time to get used to the idea, but don't give them an option.
2. Eat a filling breakfast with plenty of complex carbs and protein every day. Make time for breakfast and your body will perform for you. With a good breakfast under your belt, you will be fortified enough to reject fatty little morning and afternoon teas. A couple of boiled eggs with some whole wheat toast would be an ideal breakfast option. Muesli with low fat yoghurt is another energy boosting, fat burning breakfast that you should seriously consider.
3. By contrast, don't eat much at dinner time. Shift most of the calories you would normally consume at the end of the day to breakfast and lunch with a healthy snack mid morning and mid afternoon. Fruit or a protein shake or bar are quick and filling snacks and very good for you.
Your body needs energy to get through the day, not to snore away the night. You can even go to bed a little hungry. What? Yes you read it right. A few nocturnal tummy rumbles are not going to kill you and you will be inspired to not skip a hearty and healthy breakfast next morning.
4. Swap fats. Work out what type of fats you are consuming each day. Chances are, you are overindulging and therefore bulging with saturated fats as found in deep fried items and butter. Swap these fats for the unsaturated type you'll find in nuts, olive oil, avocados and fatty fish.
5. Cut back on potatoes, rice or pasta to half your normal intake and fill the empty space on your plate with steamed vegetables or salads. Your bowels are going to love the fibre; you are going to feel fuller longer and you will lose weight.
You really don't have to diet to lose weight but you do have to change your eating habits. A little effort on your part for the reward you want - not a bad trade off.
It is your weight loss mission, should you choose to accept it.
